Amihan Castro is the crown princess of Perezia. Half-human and half-fairy (diwata), she is able to control the weather and bring down disaster with a wave of a hand. She is the eldest of the three gems of Perezia.

She is a close friend of Elias Denosta. She is also a peer of the Empress Aisha Myrmorn.

After the disappearance of her sister and her friend, she has since engulfed Perezia in an eternal storm.

Appearance

Amihan is a woman of medium stature. She has medium-length dark hair that reaches past her shoulders. She has dark brown eyes. Her skin is a dark brown. Her hair is commonly seen tied in loose buns or braids. She wears various headdresses that change throughout the seasons.

Due to her rank, she wears many gold jewelry.

Personality

Her persona as a princess greatly differs from her true personality; though known by many as an intimidating figure, those close to her characterize her as someone cool-headed and easy-going.

As a princess, Amihan is admired yet feared. Her ability to harness disaster is seen as a threat by political enemies as well, as her storms are capable of devastating nations. Due to her destructive power, many bow down to Perezia.

As ‘just Amihan,’ she is seen as someone silly and mostly unserious. She likes playing pranks on her peers, committing to her act so intensely that she can easily fool even ones she has repeatedly played a joke on.

The eldest of three sisters, Amihan acts as the authority between them due to both rank and age. Consequently, this put a rift between Amihan and Tala.

Having been disappointed by her parents’ display of love, Amihan has little interest in romance. Despite having fulfilling platonic and familial relationships, she feels empty and lonely; her struggles to accept her own loneliness brought on by a lack of a partner, at times, cause her to grow jealous and isolated from her sisters and peers. She feels as though she has fallen behind in life or is lacking essential experience.

Relationships

Tala Castro

‘Hinaharangan nanaman ng ulap ang mga tala.’

The two have a tense relationship brought on by rivalry. With Amihan being favored and loved by their mother, Tala developed jealousy towards Amihan at an early age. Frequent comparisons between the two sisters caused resentment to fester.

Despite this rivalry, Amihan loves Tala deeply and wishes to see her happy and well. Tala, on the other hand, dislikes Amihan wholly.

Ylang Castro

Amihan tends to dote on Ylang, which Ylang greatly enjoys. Ylang adores Amihan—a sentiment mirrored by her elder sister. The younger also tends to tease her elder sister, calling Amihan ‘out-of-style’ and ‘laos.’ Amihan is also frequently confused by the lingo Ylang uses.

Elias Denosta

The two are childhood friends, having met so early in their lives that they cannot even remember when they met. With their lives being so intertwined, Amihan views Elias as the elder brother she never had. On the other hand, Elias sees Amihan as his ideal girl.

Amihan greatly enjoys Elias’s company as she feels as though she never has to mature or grow up and can be ‘just Amihan’ in his presence. Knowing that he likes her, she feels disgusted and disgruntled by his feelings, yet cannot help but gravitate towards him as she does not know a life without Elias. In turn, Elias sees Amihan’s inability to fully turn him away as a reciprocation and continues to pine after her. Though his feelings are clear, he does not confess them until much later.

Even though the two enjoy a close relationship, they frequently experience miscommunication. Amihan feels ‘dirty’ being gazed at with attraction, but does not turn down Elias nor voice out her disgust; she expects him to know her ‘heart and soul,’ and thinks she should not have to say something so unsavory out loud—essentially expecting Elias to read her mind. Elias, despite claiming to know Amihan well, loses sight of the real her, idealizing her more and more as his attraction grows. Ironically, it is his love for her that divides them.

Amihan finds it hard to accept that a man she has always viewed as a brother is in love with her, especially because he knows her aversion to romance.
